Sweet Talk with Francine's Sweets: Episode 14

Alayna here. We’re back for volume 14 of the sweetest blog post of your day.

Read on to hear about some of my most memorable Easter moments, find out why I’m going corporate and get your last minute Cookie Madness Bracket Box orders in!

Let’s sweet talk.

Easter Egg Hunts Are Not For The Weak

Despite what you’re about to read below, Easter is one of my favorite days! It’s the day that Jesus conquered Satan and the grave, demolishing death and granting us eternal salvation! You truly can’t top that! Less importantly, spring is starting, lil birdies are chirping, and you’re starting to get excited about Tigers baseball. Life is gooooooood!

Easter brings up two important stories in my family’s lore. The first being the infamous St. Peter Macomb Easter Egg hunt which my dad brought my brother and me to. Sweet, charming, wholesome, right? Wrong. Being the extremely shy and sensitive 5-year-old I was, in a rush for the eggs, I got immediately trampled by older kids that may or may not have included my brother. I’d run (well, more like cautiously look around to see if any big kids were coming and then take 2 timid steps forward) up to an egg, only for it to be swiped from my paws by a snot-nosed punk with pointy elbows and a bowl cut. I guess he needed those 2 pennies in the egg more than I did. There were skinned knees and tears, and most importantly, a huge lack of eggs and candy. Shockingly, I don’t ever remember us doing that again.

Then there was also the Easter that my dad got paid to wear an Easter bunny costume at a store to help bring in business. As soon as I showed up with my mom and brother and saw those horizontal bunny ears, I was scared out of my mind. I distinctly remember hearing my dad’s voice come out of the head of that thing, and I lost my marbles (see picture 2). I’m still recovering.

Hopefully your Easter activities don’t involve as many tears as mine apparently did. If you signed up to bring dessert to your family brunch months ago and are regretting that decision due to your Wall-of-China-esque to-do list, then let me bake for you!

Any of our spring cookie collection flavors would be amazing, but imagine showing up to Aunt Sharon’s with some Lemon Dream cookies in hand? I can guarantee there will be no tears involved. Place your order today by clicking the green button below!

Poppin' In and Poppin' Up

Last week barre3 Grand Rapids hosted me for a pop-up to celebrate their 7 year anniversary! I sold out in less than 2 hours which is a new record! If you pre-ordered or came and bought cookies, THANK YOU! Truly every time you post my cookies on social media or tell your friends, it helps my business grow. I could talk about Francine’s Sweets all day to anyone who will listen (also why I started a newsletter LOL), so to get to do that for an evening in my favorite workout space was so much fun!

Last Day To Order Cookie Madness Bracket Boxes!

This is the last weekend for March Madness (basketball version) AND for Cookie Madness (cookie version). If you’re planning to watch any games with your friends or family, order a Cookie Madness Bracket Box to play with your pals!

When you order, you’ll receive a box of 8 different cookie flavors, and a cookie bracket. Each cookie has been paired up against another flavor. Take a bite of each cookie for each match-up and choose the flavor you like best. The winner moves on to the next round. Keep trying cookies until you get through all rounds and determine a winner.

Post your bracket and winning cookie & tag @FrancinesSweets for a chance to win a dozen cookies!

I’ll be announcing the cookie victor and the winner of free cookies on Monday, April 7th!

She's Gone Corporate

Nope, I’m not throwing on a blazer and punching in to a 9-5, but I am clocking in on LinkedIn! If you’re on there too, go give Francine’s Sweets a follow! One of my goals with joining this professional platform is to connect with other local businesses to provide cookies for corporate events, fundraisers and just boosting employee morale! So if you’re reading this email instead of working your corporate job, you should at least order some cookies for your co-workers while you’re at it! 🙂

Thanks for reading!
