Alayna here. We’re back for volume 6 of the sweetest email in your inbox.

Today we’re chatting about procrastination, our Christmas Cookie Collection (Triple C, if you will) and Christmas nostalgia.

Let’s sweet talk.

It’s Christmas (cookie) time in the city

If you’ve been putting off Christmas shopping for your fam this year, I’m with you. Every year I procrastinate my gift giving and then kick myself with I try to order something online and it says it won’t be here until after Christmas. Guess I shouldn’t have waited until December 23rd at 11:59pm to order a pair of slippers for my husband, that’s on me.

So if you can relate, especially when it comes to ordering cookies, I’ve got your back! Maybe way back in November, you signed up to bring dessert to your office Christmas party, figuring future-you would worry about it later. Well, later is HERE, and it’s time to place your order! A box of cookies would be the perfect gift for your child’s teacher, UPS drivers, pastors, a work party, or your Christmas celebrations.

These are packaged in adorable white boxes that can be given directly as a gift-no need to unbox and re-package!

The last day to order your Christmas cookies is Saturday, December 21st.

Check out all of our incredible flavors below!

‘Tis the season to be eating cookies

I absolutely loved getting to hang out at barre3 this past week! Thanks to everyone that came and bought cookies! I sold out for a second time and I couldn’t be more grateful!

It’s such a dream to get to bake cookies and plan cute table set-ups. Thanks for your support!

Cookies just like Grandma made ‘em

If you haven’t figured out already, I am obsessed with cookies. There are so many flavor options, they’re portable, you can eat them out of your hand, in the car, in the pick-up line, in bed, in the shower (okay, maybe don’t do that), literally anywhere.

At Francine’s Sweets, my goal is to make homemade, delicious, gourmet cookies that invoke a little nostalgia. I have so many memories of helping my mom and grandma bake cookies, and I’m sure you can relate!

My grandma used to make DOZENS of cookies each Christmas season. She started in October and froze them by setting them out on her back porch, sure to stay ice cold due to our Michigan winters. These cookies would last us from Christmas to Easter. We always joked with her that she didn’t need to make THAT many, seeing as our family is fairly small. But every year, she’s whip out her flour, sugar and butter, and go to town. One I loved was called a Pecan Tassie. It was a shortbread cookie baked in a mini muffin tin and filled with a pecan filling. It required a special little tool to pat down the dough to make room for the filling. I can still smell the scent of the roasted pecans, mingled with cinnamon and sugar, while the wood floors of my grandparents’ kitchen squeaked as we pulled cookie tray after cookie tray out of the oven.

I want my cookies to remind you of your childhood, of a cookie flavor you had as a kid, in a warm kitchen with Bing Crosby playing the background.

What are some of your favorite cookie flavors from childhood? I’d love to know!

No, it’s not a baby dumbbell, it’s the little tool used to make Pecan Tassies- a childhood staple during Christmas!
